Sup. Read any good books lately? This one's good. Bridge of Birds, by Barry Hughart. Chinese fable and bawdy adventure wrapped up in one. Iplan on finishing it soon.

just finished Bill Bryson's Mother Tongue, about the history and evolution of the english language and why it's spread throughout the world so profusely. very awesome read. very conversational and easy to read (providing you're even remotely interested in the topic). interesting fact: the different names we have for live animals vs foods (cow vs beef, pig vs pork) came from centuries ago when the Normans (french) took over england. in the castles, they spoke french and used the french terms for the animal when talking about the food they were eating. the commoners in the field spoke english and used the english animal names. thus, the division of terms.

now working on Michael Pollan's The Omnivore's Dilemma: a natural history of four meals. this one makes me cry. the plight of the corn farmers in this country, the dependency we have on corn products (you would be AMAZED how much corn we ingest every day), and the amount of fossil fuels we use to produce the very product that they claim will supplement gasoline (ethanol). makes me want to CHANGE THE WORLD!!!!
